Creating art is only so important. Connecting with life as the art of GOD- or the COSMOS/LOVE/SOURCE, is the true art, and provides the greatest nourishment. No specific religion, just a follower of the words as the universe writes them in my heart and on the book of life. The best time to engage creatively is when source connection is rediscovered and established, ( though sometimes the reverse is true as well - for creating can indeed be a path to the remembrance of our connection with all creation, and CREATOR). I am a student of this practice, and yes, it does sometimes take practice! Thank you beginner's mind. When I make art as the student, I do so with curiosity and awareness. I discover as I create. Sometimes I make mistakes. In art, as in life, mistakes can be hard and costly the blessing is of course that our mistakes bear fruit as lessons- and, sometimes can even be transformed into opportunities for discovery and even innovation. Happy accidents can be helpful! This is why play and experimentation are so valuable. We always have to start from where we are, which, even amongst the most mundane and seemingly confining circumstances - is still the center of the infinite, with possibilities in all directions. From wherever I happen to be, and whatever I happen to be experiencing, as an artist I remember to inquire of myself- “What art can I make of thought and life that causes me to live inspired? What art can I make of physicality that inspires?“ 

I’ve heard that where focus goes, energy flows.
